Category Pillar of Health

When one pillar of health in the following list collapses, the rest crumble slowly after it.

  • Physical – The condition of the body, including fitness level, regular diet, presence or absence of illness or disease, etc.
  • Mental – Wellbeing of the mind. I tend to narrow this down into intellectual pursuits such as constant learning.
  • Emotional – The condition of your heart and your ability to perceive and cope with your own feelings and reactions.
  • Social – Healthy and uplifting connections based on necessary boundaries and reasonable expectations.
  • Spiritual – Connecting with some sense of the divine or unknowable in order to better understand existence.

Each pillar of health supports various aspects of each other, and from a holistic perspective, the five are deeply intertwined.
