Ah, the soapbox. The little crate on the corner where a random person spouts opinions and end-of-world tirades.
I enjoy ranting. It’s part of my joy, but I rarely get to rant effectively when I speak. So I write, instead. This category is the online equivalent of that crate on the corner. Standing in my little internet hideaway, the rants flow.
That said, my makeshift podium is hardly traditional. I tend to gear my bluster towards whatever interests me at the time. It’s typically not politics, like the usual soapbox.
Online authenticity comes with challenges, costs, and benefits. So how can a creative be authentic online in a world of conflicting advice? The answer is simple and difficult. Be yourself, but not too much. Seriously. That's it.
